Expenses: Bill an expense to a client

Learn how to bill a client an expense you have occured while providing them your services.

  1. Open an existing or create a new expense.

  2. To bill the expense to a client, toggle Billable.

  3. Under the section Flow this expense through to a client type and select the client name.

  4. Two options:

    • Leave the drop down below empty to add this expenses to the next invoice you issue to your client.

    • Click the drop down button if you wish to add the expense to an already existing invoice.

  5. SAVE the changes to the expense.

  6. Create a new invoice for the client.

  7. On the invoice click Generate Items.

    Note: If there are any outstanding billable Mileage or Hours, these will also get populated. Delete these items off the invoice if they should not yet be billed.

  8. SAVE and send the invoice.
